The rate was excellent for our room. We enjoyed it and would defintely come again. Underground parking was a bonus and I felt very at home with this hotel. Close enough to the downtown area for those who can walk.

Pretty close to downtown Banff. Small parking space, but free. Friendly staff, when we tried to book again they were sold out but gave us directions to an even better place. In fact, the concierge of the pricy Banff Springs Hotel recommended Irwins and said his parents always use that hotel when in Banff.

I had read the reviews, and although it had a high rating, even for Banff, I was disappointed. The shower had no hot water in the morning, and there was a small red dot on my towel that looked like a blood spot. There was a long black hair stuck to the shower wall and you needed a jacket in the resteraunt the next morning because of the cold. Although the reviews warned me about the hot water issue, I thought it would be fixed by now. No luck. The front desk said it just happened and they had someone coming to fix it. Do they tell that to all their guest who are checking out?

We received a free room upgrade because our room was having the carpets cleaned, so we ended up with a bigger room. The hotel was clean and relatively quiet, but could use some new paint, but was overall nice. And it was only about a 10 minute walk from downtown Banff. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I would stay there again.

Our first impression of our room was not good because the first thing we saw was the window coverings, which were in bad condition. If those and the bedspreads were replaced it really wouldn't have been bad at all. The sheets and bathrooms were clean and the furniture was fine.

reception staff were deplorable, rooms are crammed with old, throw-together furnishings, desk without chair, AC that was jammed to blow strongly in faces of those sleeping, underground parking, a couple of blocks from downtown core.

Would definitely stay here again when in Banff. Friendly staff. Good coffee at the reception. Only complaint is the bunch of monkeys staying across the corridor on our first night......but that's not the fault of the hotel

We enjoyed our stay at Irwin's. Our room was larger than we anticipated (we booked a deluxe suite, I think it was called - it didn't have separate rooms, but there was plenty of space and two beds). Nice big flat-screen TV on the wall, good bathroom, nice sink, counter, fridge, microwave, etc. Little patio was cute, and windows that open are awesome. Our room faced the back...nice view of mountains. Beds were very comfy and linens were clean and soft. This was a good room for us to be able to move around (we had our little 15 month-old daughter with us), but I think next time I'm going to try to get a room that has a separate bedroom. I would stay here again. :) Now for some criticism: -This place should serve a free breakfast -El Toro (the restaurant in the hotel) was terrible. Don't go there...at least not for dinner. I was very disappointed with the food. -Housekeeping was generally good (and the staff were very punctual and friendly!), but there were some carpet stains as well as leftover food under one of the chairs. Not great when you have a toddler. -It would be nice to have a pool to relax in! Overall, I would recommend this place and plan to return, as long as I can get a good deal for our family again.

I thought that the room was nice, extra pillow and blanket in the room was quite handy. The internet site said that they had a sauna and a steam room, but steam room was gone and the sauna did not work, hot tub was fine though. The room was very hot at night even though we turned the heat completely off. Outside temps were in the 20's but we slept without our blankets both nights. The room came with a breakfast that was okay but you get to eat in the hotel restaurant and that was a very nice way to start our day. Location is wonderful, walking distance to many restaurants and there were buses to take you to skiing. Overall I was pleased with both hotel and staff and would stay again.
