Was very impressed by the whole expereince My wife and I have already passed the Hotel name on to frienda and family. We are selves plan on using Sandlewood again in future.

The hotel is in a great location that isn't far from the subway and shopping centers and is very easy to get to from the major highways. The workers were all very nice and the breakfast tastes great. The hotel was very clean and has a beautiful patio outside. We went to Canada's Wonderland and it only took about 20 minutes to get there. The price of the hotel was amazing and the hotel offers great deals and discounts that will help you save even more. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Toronto.

We were excited to have a sofa bed, because it gave an option for privacy. However upon opening the bed we were shocked at how uncomfortable the bed was as the crossbars were too high and the bed was not flat. We took the mattress out of the sofa bed and laid it on the floor. This provided us with a more comfortable bed. Excellent location - close to the airport and made out departure easy in the morning.

We were notified that the no longer had the kind of room we reserved (2 queen beds with a queen pull out sofa). They said they are given out at a first come, first serve basis which to me renders a reservation useless! They "upgraded" us to a "nicer suite" which they reassured me we would enjoy, especially since we were not getting charged extra. We didn't. It was very small. We had a lamp that didn't work, the sheets in the pull out sofa were dirty. When we called for new sheets, they said they would be right up. When we called 30 minutes after they didn't arrive, we were notified that it was too late to get new ones. We told them that we called before!

I picked this hotel for its price and location, and pretty much got what was advertised. It's very close to the airport and highways, and relatively inexpensive. You won't find the details here, (the bathroom looked to be clean but old, there were patches on the wall and scratches in the doors) but the bedroom was clean, comfortable, and it was a very pleasant stay. They run a no-frills breakfast in the morning (bagels, waffle machines, juice, eggs, sausage, coffee) which was just fine with me - but get there early because the hot food runs out quickly! I'd definitely recommend and/or stay here again.

The hotel staff was nice upon check-in; however, after check in they were pretty rude. The shuttle took about 45 minutes to arrive at the airport after a staff member assured me they would be there within fifteen minutes of my call. Yes you have to call to request the shuttle, unlike other shuttles they only come upon request. The hotel was a bit dusty and the grounds were not well maintained. I would recommend Extended Stay if it is available.

Economical, yet comfortable hotel stay within easy striking distance of Toronto. Only a 10 min. drive to the closest Subway station (if you want to avoid driving through Toronto) where you can park for $5. The hotel area seems to be pretty quiet - mainly office buildings. Room had a kitchette in it if we wanted to cook/refridgerate our own food. Room was spacious. Only thing that would have made this better was if it had a pool.

The staff were helpful and the lobby clean and inviting. Restricting the use of the computer to 30 minutes per person was a very good idea. We did not have a car and found that the hotel shop only sold crisps, chocolate, soft drinks and the odd other thing but not anything which we would have wanted to have in the fridge in our room, such as cheese, milk, bread, potatoes so we could have an evening meal which wasn't provided over the weekend or bank holiday. There was no shop close by, we had to walk after an 8 hour flight in the heat for about 30 minutes each way to find a shop To get into Downtown Toronto without a car at the weekend and bank holiday meant a 20 minute walk, a 20 minute bus ride before we even got to the underground station, which then took another 30 minutes.. We weren't in the position to travel by taxi. The air conditioning was lovely during the day, but was very noisy and had to be turned off at night. Breakfast was very good, the evening refreshments the one night we were back in time was very limited. It would have been really helpful if there had been a print off of the local bus timetables, where the buses stopped and the times they ran for weekends, bank holidays and weekdays. We also hadn't thought that as this is a hotel airport that there would be people would be getting up in the early hours to catch flights. I think had we used the hotel for a night before we flew then things would have been fine, but for a 6 night stay we were really too far away from Toronto and would have been better if we had better access to transport and shops. Having said all this we had a lovely time in Toronto but with a bit more planning on our part, had we stayed closer to downtown Toronto things might have been more relaxing. .

Sandalwood Suites Toronto was on the outskirts of Toronto but convient to public transportation. The room was clean and the hotel places sheets on top of the bed spread - a bonus in my book! The layout for breakfast could be vastly improved if the hot and cold foods were placed in seperate locations so you didn't have to wait in line behind all the waffle makers to get cold cereal. There were several signs discouraging taking food to your room so seating was at a premuim.

This could be a 5 star hotel if not for a few little things. The bathtub seemed a little small, the air/heat had no thermostat to set the temperature you would want the room to stay at, no swimming pool. The air-conditioning worked very well, but if you left it on low and came back in a few hours, it would be quite cold when you returned. Some of the guest who stayed at the hotel could use tips in cleanliness, when they ate at the continental breakfast they left a mess and the hotel didn’t have enough personnel cleaning up after the slobs. As long as you stay in your own room, you’ll be fine.

Since we checked-in very late that night (11:45PM) we just slept that night and next day we moved to a nicer room on the first level. Complimentary breakfast is definitely a good choice as I do not remember seeing any place closeby to go for a breakfast. The only problem in the breakfast area is the "Long line" as there was only one "Bread/Bagel/English Muffin Toaster". Their Coffee was excellent. Overall this is a good hotel for the money you spend.

So when i checked in this time, several months later, he came out from his office and remembered me and took me to the fitness room to show me the new treadmill! They probably see 1000 faces a week and he remembered mine and my issue! They could update the rooms and the towels a bit. Still small rough towels and slightly aged rooms. But overall I will always stay here when I come to town. And I am in toronto 6 times per year for business. Oh, and the only other thing I would change here? more cable channels. They dont even have CNBC as an option or MSNBC or half of the american cable channels that other hotels tend to have.
