You need to tell guests to park first as we had a run in with parking police over being in front of the hotel while checking in. If the hotel manager had not come out to the rescue our car would have been towed away in spite of the sign that said we had 15 minutes to free park to register.

Le Nouvel Hotel's location is only a couple blocks from the Guy-Concordia Métro subway station. This gives quick access to all of Montréal. Also, this line connects directly to the Underground City, which provides a multitude of activities when the weather is not nice. Internet was included in my package. Many public places in Montréal also have free internet. If you bring a laptop for business or recreation, it is helpful for seeing all the attractions. One attraction not listed in the hotel's information that I thought worthwhile was O Noir. This restaurant is only a couple of blocks from the hotel. It is run by an institute for the blind. All service is provided in a dark environment by blind servers. My only complaint was the parking. The hotel lists that it has parking. When I arrived, I found that parking was available, but this was an additional expense per day. Since I used the Métro so frequently, I may have pursued alternate transportation instead of parking my car there.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The hallways were a little rundown. The hotel's restaurant was below-average and over-priced relative to food quality. The location of the hotel was sub-optimal relative to the downtown central but was in a quiet neighborhood. I doubt that I will return because I've stayed at comparably-priced hotels in Montreal that are better overall.

I stayed at the Nouvel for 2 nights and it was amazing. The staff are knowledgable and always there - 4 staff behind a small desk and english speaking. I stayed in the Admiral lofts and it was 10/10. It's on the first floor with a private entrance. The room was huge - pull out couch, kitchenette, bathroom with a hot tub and standup shower. The spa services are downstairs and were very good.

I thought the hotel would be a little nicer. In the middle of winter, the walk to the metro took about 15 min. Close to St. Catharine but not close to the plateau. I would probably look for a place closer to the plateau next time. We had to pay extra for 4 people in one room yet they never gave us enough towels and soap every night. The pluses are that there is free internet and it is on a main street where cabs come all of the time.

Have stayed in a number of hotels in Montreal over the past 8+ years. First time in this hotel. Location was great for this trip as my son is at University and his dorm was across the street. However for shopping a bit out of the way. Parking was great. Have a SUV and being able to park it myself was a plus and charge was only $15. compared to $25 at other hotels. Will stay here again however will depend on reason of visit and what I would like close by.

My wife and I arrived with our 5-month old in tow amid a torrential downpour. The front desk said they couldn't loan us an umbrella, and would not help us take our bags out of the taxi. The rooms on the seventh floor ("Executive floor") were reasonably comfortable but not exactly what I'd call "luxurious." Really, the best part about this hotel is its proximity to subways and other stuff that is downtown. If you're not planning on spending a lot of time in the room, and just need a place to sleep between your jaunts around the city, this hotel will fit the bill. The good: Free WiFi, comfortable bed, good location close to subway and restaurants The bad: WiFi reception was poor in our room, in-hotel restaurant / room service is bad and overpriced

Easy cab ride/subway to Old Montreal and everything else you'll want. For an extra $20 a night we were able to upgrade to a suite which was well worth it and one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Good 24hr gym, and very friendly helpful staff. I truly appreciated the fact that when we checked in, the clerk informed us that the room which had been reserved for us was on the same floor as very large group of teenagers. She asked us if we would like her to see if another room was available. We were told that the hotel was unusually busy that evening with many tour groups. The clerk had difficulty finding us another room so she asked the manager to assist her. We were given a wonderful suite in the rear building which appears to be more condo and suite type units. The front building, which borders Rene Levesque Blvd. seems older and much more like a standard hotel. We initally went into the older part and noticed an odd odor; couldn't tell if it was age-related or not. I would highly recommend trying to get a room in the rear building. The location was great for catching a hockey game at the Bell Centre; just a few minutes walk. Not much further was some good shopping on St. Catherine and Maisonneuve; plenty of restaurants to choose from. Parking was affordable and based on a 24 hour ticket which allowed you to exit and re-enter. Overall, very pleased.
