  1. What are the requirements for claiming under the Price Match Guarantee?
    • You must have already booked a prepaid reservation.
    • The reservation cannot be for a hotel room booked as part of a package.
    • The lower rate must be available for booking on the competing site with identical specifications of the original request (ex: same hotel, same date, same room type and same currency).
    • The lower rate you find must be available via another website directed to consumers in Canada
    • If you used a coupon or discount voucher when you made the original booking with us we will use the total discounted price you paid and compare this to the lower price you found in order to calculate any refund
  2. What should I do if I find a cheaper rate on a competitor's site?

    If you find a lower rate for your hotel on another site just let us know and we’ll refund the difference to you. It’s that easy. Unlike some other sites, we don’t just give you 24 hours from the date you book your hotel – if you find a lower price, anytime, right up to the hotel’s cancellation window just let us know and we’ll match the price. So it doesn’t matter if you find a lower price 3 hours after you book or 3 months after, our guarantee still applies. Of course, the lower price you find needs to be for the same dates, length of stay and room type but that’s it.

  1. Price Match Guarantee -

    If, after you have booked and prepaid for a hotel on hotels.com, you find a lower rate on hotels.com or on another U.S.-based website prior to the property's cancellation deadline, we will either, at our option, refund the difference to you or cancel the reservation without penalty. Package bookings and bookings that cannot be cancelled are not eligible for this guarantee.

  2. Submitting a Claim -

    You must contact us at 1-800-297-4120 or submit your request using the Price Match Guarantee form prior to the property's cancellation deadline. Deadlines vary. Refer to your booking confirmation email or your reservation details in "My Account" for the applicable deadline. The lower rate must be available for booking at the time you contact us, as determined by our customer service representatives.

  3. Comparison Must Be to Same Itinerary -

    The Price Match Guarantee is available only for exact itinerary matches, including property, room type, applicable refund policy, and dates of travel as booked through hotels.com. In addition, the comparison must be to the same property purchased stand-alone through another website (i.e., not part of a hotel + air package). The guarantee applies only to the cost of booked travel, as presented in the hotels.com search results, without including taxes and fees. It is not available for bookings on websites where the property or other booking details are unknown until after purchase. You must meet all requirements imposed on the lower price (if any), including, without limitation, residency, regional and age-related requirements.

  4. Comparison Must Be Available -

    to the General Public. The Price Match Guarantee applies only to prices both advertised and available to the general public on a U.S.-based website. For example, this does not include rates offered on membership program websites; corporate discounts or rates; group, charter, rewards program, incentive, meeting, convention, consolidator or interline prices; prices obtained via auction or similar process; or prices available only by using a coupon or other promotion not offered to the general public. The lower rate may not come from a website where you call to get the rate, or from an e-mail that you received. The rate must be quoted and booked in U.S. dollars (and without reference to currency converters).

  5. Claim Verification -

    All requests are subject to verification by hotels.com. We will not accept screenshots or other purported evidence of a lower price that we cannot independently confirm. Nor will we verify any request that we believe, in our sole discretion, is the result of a printing or other error or is made fraudulently or in bad faith. Verified requests will receive a credit to the credit card used for the booking. It may take up to 30 days or the next billing cycle for the credit to appear on your statement.

  6. Changes -

    We reserve the right in our sole discretion to modify or discontinue the Price Match Guarantee or to restrict its availability to any person, at any time, for any or no reason, and without prior notice or liability to you. The terms that are in effect at the time of your claim will determine your eligibility under the guarantee. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms & Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
